If Presidential Candidates are Real Estate Properties

There’s no doubt that the 2016 Presidential Election is the most intense yet. No matter what the results would be, the lives of the Filipino people will never be the same again.

We’ve heard all the interviews, read their backgrounds, and watched the debates. We formed alliances, shifted sides, and made decisions. Now it’s time to assess them in the next best way possible: as real estate properties. We searched our portal to find properties that best describe our presidential candidates. Enjoy!

1. Jejomar “Jojo” Binay: A grand mansion in Makati

Binay house

When you hear “Binay,” you automatically see Makati, the Philippines’ leading business district. The Binays ruled over Makati for so long that it can never be imagined without them.

Because of the empire that he has built in Makati, we imagine Binay as a grand mansion located in one of the glamorous subdivisions in his beloved city. This 2,142 square meters mansion complete with swimming pool in Forbes Park, Makati definitely embodies the grandeur that the Binay regime is promising.

2. Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte: Glass house

Rodrigo Duterte is like a glass house

Currently leading the survey polls, Rodrigo Duterte is on his way towards a possible win. With his bad boy charm and track record as Davao City’s beloved mayor, Duterte definitely caught the hearts of the Filipino masses. But despite of these, Duterte remains controversial with his unfiltered interviews and unconventional solution in fighting crime hence his nickname The Punisher, causing the whole wide world to raise some eyebrows.

We imagine Duterte as this glass house in Pasig City. Just like the glass windows of this property, Duterte is transparent and unfiltered to the Filipino people, a factor that can cause his win or his demise. Can the Filipino people truly accept whatever that they will see inside those glass windows, without turning a blind eye?

3. Grace Poe: Pre-selling condominium unit

Grace Poe is like a condominium

Being the daughter of the late actor and presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr. helped Senator Grace Poe secure the top spot on the earlier survey polls.

Grace Poe is like a pre-selling condominium unit. Pre-selling pertains to properties that are being sold to the public even though they are not yet done. Poe has been criticized before due to her rookie status as a politician. Just like these properties, Poe’s leadership can be very promising but it can lead to disappointment when her actions and decisionsdid not meet the expectations of the public.

4. Mar Roxas: Picket fence suburban home

Roxas House in Quezon City

As the standard bearer of the Liberal Party, Mar Roxas promises on continuing what current president Ninoy Aquino has done. Despite having strong platforms and hoards of celebrity endorsers, Mar Roxas still had a hard time climbing up to the top of the polls.

Roxas can be described by this picket fence dream house in Quezon City. It’s traditional and safe, something that Roxas and his Daang Matuwid team are promising. The only problem left the Filipinos’ hunger for change. But can they top off the people’s call for new blood in the office?

5. Miriam Defensor-Santiago: A vintage home

House in Taguig

The Iron Lady of Asia runs for the presidency for the third time. Her long list of achievements give her the boost to become a credible leader though many are still unsure on voting her because of her current health status. Despite of detractors, Santiago insist that she’s never been better and that she’s ready to serve the country as its leader.

Santiago is like this house in Taguig City. Grand and impressive, the house proves that it has passed the test of time. Can her impressive resume be enough to put her in the Malacañang?

May 9 is the big day! We are encouraging you to get out of the house and to vote! Be critical and make smart decisions. Vote wisely!
