Pros

Perfect for the traveler – Does your job require you to travel a lot? Do you often take trips to international destinations? Then living near an airport is worth considering. You’ll no longer have to travel far away to the airport and deal with traffic and/or expensive taxi rides.

Accessible transportation –Airports are usually linked to an expressway or other main roads so it can be easy for you to get to the city center. Add to this, the fact many local governments are currently looking to ease traffic in the areas around the airport since they don’t want tourists and business travelers to have an unpleasant experience when they first arrive.

Commercial establishments – You no longer have to travel far for your Sunday grocery trip. Malls and other commercial establishments often surround airports. NAIA in Manila is a short drive away from Mall of Asia and several popular restaurants.

Cons

Noise pollution –Noise is a major problem when you live near an airport. There is no real way to avoid this unless you find a home a good distance away from the airport, however, you may lose some of the benefits in the process.

Health risks –Aside from the noise pollution, there is also a risk you will be exposed to air pollution. The amount of pollutants produced by an aircraft can easily be embedded on the lungs and the bloodstream which can contribute to the development of heart disease.

Overpriced properties – Real estate in the vicinity of airports comes with an expensive price tag. Having an airport nearby adds value to the property.
