Situated in the province of Benguet, Baguio City is named the “Summer Capital of the Philippines” because of its popularity during the vacation season. Americans turned the city into a haven for their soldiers during their occupation.

Baguio City’s charm brightened even more when it became the principal location for the movie That Thing Called Tadhana and Forevermore. Just last year, over 2 million tourists came to Baguio City to witness the annual Panagbenga Festival. Because of its unstoppable pull to the tourists, real estate developers keep on investing in this wondrous city.

INEXPENSIVE ELECTRICITY AND WATER

For only a thousand peso you can already pay for both electricity and water bills. The reason why the utility bills are cheaper in Baguio is because it’s already cold people no longer need to use air conditioning or electric fans.

Baguio is also famous for its ukay-ukay or thrift shops. Where else can you buy a gorgeous pair of boots for only a hundred bucks? Where else can you buy a stunning dress for only P20? Session Road is filled with thrift stores that fashion people will really die for. Baguio also has a weekly night market where you can shop ’till you drop and buy good food.

WALKING DISTANCE

Everything is in vicinity in Baguio. Thanks to the weather, it’s very possible to just walk your way around to the city – something that’s an impossibility to the tricycle-filled lowlands. Not only are you saving transportation money, you’re also doing your health a favor.
